On Sunday, February 8 we had the opportunity to experience a "Reverse Mission Trip". Our Global Mission Partners from Guatemala, Ovidio and Kery Garcia visited our church and share with us all the things the Lord is doing in Comitancillo, Guatemala through Mission Housing. We were blessed to listen to Ovidio's stories and challenged to be an active part of the lives of our brothers and sisters in Comitancillo. You can watch the Sunday Service here.
Learn how Trinity has partnered with the people in Comitancillo to bring the hope of Christ.
WAYS YOU CAN BE INVOLVED
1. Go on a trip: Trinity will be returning to Guatemala in the fall. We will be working on construction projects and ministering to single moms, widows, and kids. For more information on cost of the trip, as well as trip sponsorship opportunity, please contact Stacy.
2. Sponsor a construction project:
- Bunk bed construction: Many families sleep in small spaces, all in a single bed. Often the bed is nothing more than boards with a few blankets. Bunkbeds provide more sleeping space and come with mattresses and blankets. Cost is $450.
- Home construction: Simple homes provide basic shelter and are accepted within the community as a 'hand-up' without creating dependence or jealousy. The family partners in the construction project either with a visiting US team or with a local construction team. Cost is $750.
3. Purchase a stove: Stoves replace open fires for cooking. They remove toxic smoke from living spaces and require less wood, produce more heat saving time and money for the family. Cost is $450.
4. Purchase an animal: $75 provides an animal to be chosen by the family. This is often a young pig, a sheep, or two small piglets. Money that is not spent on the animal may be used for an initial supply of feed.
